The Wing Surf Camp Mission

Superior Instruction and Safety protocols individually customized for the client based upon their goals, learning style and specific needs. We provide superior beginner to expert training camps at exotic locations around the world, and educate the clients so they can make decisions that will satisfy their desires.

 

We deliver this professional experience with the camaraderie of joining the surfing tribe, complete with new friends, pride, and the joy of continued successful progression gained by full understanding of the forces that control your ride.

ABOUT THE OWNER:

 

Erik has been teaching Kite Surfing ever since he learned on Maui in 1999. He was coached in many extreme sports by Olympic coaches and athletes, Pro riders and Pro Instructor/Examiners.

 

He started with Olympic Springboard Diving Coach Dick Kimball at age 4, sailing age 5, then the Norwegian Olympic Nordic Ski Jumping coaches and team at age 8. Started ski jumping 40-50 meters by age 12, then started inverted freestyle jumping at age 16.  He began lifeguarding at age 16, learned surfing in Hawaii at age 16, skydiving age 17, windsurfing age 22, Circus Trapeze Artist at 25, and got his first real snowboard from Craig Kelly. USCG Master Licensed captain age 27, and more recently he began vert-ramp skateboarding as cross training for wave riding.

 

After each lesson in every sport, Erik began teaching what he’d just learned because the coaches taught how to teach as well as how to perform, and has taught extreme sports In Norway, Bahamas, Virgin Islands, Dominican Republic, Martinique, Sainte Lucia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Hawaii, California, Oregon, Vail Colorado, Lake Michigan, Montauk New York, New Hampshire, Maine, North Carolina, Florida and Texas.

        BEGINNER LESSONS

 

Learn to fly the kite and understand why the kite flies. Safety protocols and how to self rescue by yourself. Body surfing with kite power, waterstarts and first rides to the left and right.

Navigation, weather awareness and having a backup plan.

You are flying the aircraft that pulls you on a surfboard, while being your own navigator and lifeguard. These skills must be instinctive.

    INTERMEDIATE LESSONS

 

Riding back and forth is fun, but after a while you want to do more than Mowing the Lawn.

Learn to go upwind at a higher angle with less effort. How to land your jumps consistantly and softly. Learn your backrolls, frontrolls and transitions.

ADVANCED LESSONS
Kite Loops, Down Loops, Double and Triple spins on all 3 Axis, Inverted Stalls.

Strapless Surfboard Transitions, Ollies, Jumps, Grabs, Backrolls and Frontrolls
